About Dr. Greenaway
Dr. Greenaway is licensed in the states of Florida and Georgia and is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
His treatment specialties include working with adults and children suffering from depression or anxiety, and he helps individuals learn strategies for managing the effects of ADHD and learning disabilities. Dr. Greenaway also offers a structured programs for parents dealing with oppositional children.
Before becoming a psychologist, Dr. Greenaway earned his BA in Education at Penn State University. He taught school in Los Angeles for eight years, where he was teacher and tutor to the stars' kids, working academically with the children of Arnold Swarzenegger, Hugh Hefner, Bob Saget, Kenny Loggins, Barry Gordy, Tracey Ullman, and other celebreties.
He obtained his MA in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, Los Angeles. Dr. Greenaway was introduced to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in 2002 by his graduate school professor, Dr. Ramirez Basco, author of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Bipolar Disorder, Second Edition, The Bipolar Workbook: Tools for Controlling Your Mood Swings, The Procrastinator's Guide to Getting Things Done, and Never Good Enough. He was supervised working with patients the next year by Dr. Steve Krebaum, who had trained under Dr. Aaron Beck at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia. Dr. Greenaway earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX (APA-accredited) in 2004. His dual internship included one year working at The Shelton Evaluation Center in Dallas, TX, which focused on psychoeducational testing for learning disabilities and ADHD. It also included one year working for the Garland School District near Dallas, assessing students for social/emotional issues.
After graduating, Dr. Greenaway completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Bluestem Center in Rochester, MN, assessing and working with adults and children with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD, learning issues, and autism spectrum disorder, as well as emotional issues. In 2006, Dr. Greenaway completed the Clinical Certification Program in Cognitive Therapy at the Atlanta Center for Cognitive Therapy, under the training of Dr. Mark Gilson, who had also trained under and worked with Dr. Aaron Beck at the Beck Institute. Dr. Greenaway went on to co-direct the Atlanta Center for Cognitive Therapy with Dr. Gilson for six years. The center offers CBT treatment to patients and provides a 70-hour continuing education course for advanced clinicians in CBT.
In 2013, Dr. Greenaway relocated to the Jacksonville Beach / Ponte Vedra Beach area, joining the team at Marsh Landing Behavioral Group. That same year, Dr. Greenaway obtained a certificate in training, approved by the American Psychological Association (APA), for conducting autism spectrum disorder assessments. In 2015, he earned diplomate status, becoming board certified in behavioral and cognitive therapy, by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). His research projects have primarily focused on the study of ADHD, depression, and child oppositional behaviors. His writings have been published in books and magazines.
